Consider LG. They make some of the prettiest, coolest mobile phones out there. Phones like the LG Viewty Smart and the Arena have cemented their reputation for making extremely user-friendly, really very pretty phones (much like Samsung, really). What LG haven’t yet done, however, is make a phone that’s designed for business users.According to Phone Arena, however, that’s now changed; LG have launched a brand new Windows Mobile phone, aimed at precisely that sector of the market. And it’s called the LG GW550.
It’s undoubtedly a looker (well, I like it, anyway), but you’ve got genuine smartphone credentials in there. It’s running on Windows Mobile (non-touch version), and with that QWERTY keyboard, it’s going to be a rather nice phone to compose emails on (plus, it goes without saying, Windows Mobile will let you link up with an Exchange Server). You also get a 3MP camera, HSDPA running at 7.2Mbps (ooh, nice and fast) and, unusually for a business phone, stereo speakers, which is a pretty nice touch. All in all, it looks a solid buy, although it remains to be seen whether it’ll be as powerful as the HTC Snap (I’m not sure it will, but it is prettier).
However, while it may be closest to the HTC Snap in terms of OS, specs and, er, Windows Mobile-ness, the LG GW550 gets its looks from somewhere else. It looks very similar to the Nokia E71. And when I say very similar, I mean ‘god almighty, were those things separated at birth??‘

Noticeable, similarities, eh? Maybe E71 with a bit of Blackberry Pearl in its genetics somewhere.
Not that that’s a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, I just found it quite amusing how similar they look…
